The news and blogosphere is filled with responses to the July 14, 2011 story by Joshua Green, the Senior Editor of the Atlantic, entitled "Michele Bachmann's Church Says the Pope Is the Antichrist." That is because it raises a serious matter which should not be taken lightly, and one which the candidate must address. First, let me share some personal context. I am what is often called a "revert" to the Catholic Church, someone who returned to the Church of my childhood after a long search for the truth. I love being a Catholic Christian. I hold an undergraduate degree and a master's degree in Catholic theology. I am a dissertation away from obtaining a PhD in Catholic Moral Theology. I am also a member of the Clergy, a Deacon. However, I write this article as a private and very concerned citizen.

THIS IS TERRIBLE
Lets let the muslim kenyan stay in office
Ah, Jeez...
If Keith Fournier, a very prominent Catholic (who, by the way, supports Rick Santorum, not Sarah Palin) and Bill Donohue of the Catholic League are calling on Michele Bachmann to explain her membership in such a church, she had better pay attention to it. This is not going away.
No one is more anti-catholic than pro-life, pro-homosexual, fetus-harvesting Obama and his minions like the Governor of NY. Thanks for the post.

Great idea! We’ll show em ;-)
I’m Roman Catholic as is my whole family and we adore Michele Bachmann and have no problem supporting her at all.

2. WHY do you people insist on hammering on something this stupid? The battle with the Lefties will be a lot more effective if you don’t continually try to stir up nonsense division of our ranks. The lefties are always casting shots at all Christians, not just the Catholics that see the whole world aligned against them and persecuting only them.

Have a great Sunday. God bless.
Bachmann is too right-wing evangelical for my taste. These people do not believe that Catholics are Christians. They are smug in believing they are the only Christians who have been saved by the Precious Blood of Christ.
I can just imagine that they also follow Luther in his vicious anti-Semitism, too.
So now she disassociates herself from the church where she sat and listened to these sermons, without protesting, for ten years?
Reminds me of someone else and his pastor, out in Chicago, just before he ran for President.
Oh, here we go again...
They do it every four years. The lib media rushes to their reference books and researches denominational differences so they can start playing “Make the ‘Christers’ Fight”.
And dumbsh!ts (or trolls) like you play right into their hands and start badmouthing conservative candidates over how many effing angels can dance on the head of an effing pin.
Really. Makes sense to me......not.
Michelle, like everyone else in this country, has the right to her own religious beliefs. And yes, just like 0bama. However, I’m pretty sure neither Catholics or Lutherans shout “God Damn America” from their pulpits.
So what if she believes the Pope is the Antichrist? I used to think it was my middle kid until he got older!
” Reminds me of someone else and his pastor, out in Chicago, just before he ran for President. “
Are you comparing the white-hating, America-hating Marxist to Bachmann??????????
What if it was Fournier who was running for something and the question was something that the non-Roman church he “used to go to” preaches?
The onus on the accuser is not to keep on throwing out of context barbs. Can not one identify what church Michelle Bachmann attends now?
” So what if she believes the Pope is the Antichrist? I used to think it was my middle kid until he got older!”
LOL!
Amen, Us Too, Still would like her to address it.
Ping.
No...just their respective hypocrisies.
I’m Catholic and if she ends up as our candidate, I’m voting for her.
Actually we don't know that that pastor ever expressed any anti-Catholic sentiments during a sermon. Do you have proof of that? This isn't quite the same as Obama's situation where we know Obama sat through vitriolic sermons and we have recordings.
