I'd assume they do like here in Indiana, load up the minorities and libs in a district where they can have a slam dunk candidate, but keep surrounding districts safer for R candidates.

Here in Indiana we had Julia Carson (who was functionally illiterate) for years until she died, and now her Black Muslim grandson Andre has "inherited" the seat for his lifetime.

Her district is inner city Houston. It is predominately inner city poor Blacks and Hispanics (many of which are non-english speaking and illegal or first generation). She is ridiculed daily in the local media. Look up Michael Berry, local talk radio host, he does a daily “what stupid thing has Sheila Jackson Lee done today”...

yea, how does she get in there year after year. I've listened to her before and she has nothing to say of interest nor can she argue her stance well. Maybe it's affirmative action sort of thing. What they really need is someone like Allen West...but he's ours!

I really like West...and his color makes not one iotta difference...he's a man of principle and unafraid to tell it like it is with conviction. I'd love to see more like him. West makes Obama look like kindergarten material...for that matter many on both sides of the aisle could learn from this man.

No doubt if our guys win in 2012 I am hopeful he will be major part of that team.

Why the resentment? The people in her districk oughtta be ashamed, but who ever said Texas doesn’t have her problems? Moreover, I don’t see a lot of people “talking big” about Texas, not anymore really. We have a problem of too many hats and not enough cattle in the legislature. The city of Houston is firmly locked down by the rats, and the queen’s districk is a safe seat. For now.
