That’s why Obama played that Social Security card. He knew... he knew he was going to win this all along.
Instead, if I were a major GOP player in Congress, I would have called a press conference to state that “If Social Security payments fail to go out next month, it’s all the President’s decision...” and explain why.
It’s not that difficult to (rightfully) pin this nothingburger (since they are NOT going to forego paying SS benefits) right back on Obama.
