The stripper clip is used to refill the magazine in a rapid manner by placing the one end of stripper clip in mouth of the magazine and pressing down with the thumb on the rounds forcing them in to the magazine.
The emptied stripper clip is then removed from the magazine. The magazine is then ready to load in to the rifle.
Generally speaking a Magazine is a storage place for ammunition. The term is very old and has it origins in the days of fortifications and wooden war ships.
