In the same statement, I thought I heard him say "this recession".
Was listening on Fox News live at about 11AM EST. He statement was not on the White House Statements website - yet.
Did you catch it, and if so, is he signalling a Double Dip Recession that he owns?

Obama: We still have a long way to go on jobs...”
You mean until you make it 50% unemployment?

Obama acknowledged that “we still have a long way
And when you are heading in the wrong direction, you’ll never get there.
Bring back the exported manufacturing seed corn and we can grow jobs again.

They are admitting to a dismal 18,000 jobs added this month- BEFORE NEXT MONTHS DOWNWARD REVISION!!!
Last month, and every month before that, they released highly inflated numbers
They had to "downgrade" the last two months by 44,000 to 25,000. That means they announced almost 300% of actual.
I can see being 10% or even 20% off. But 200% off? For the last 2 months?
If this months number is as inflated as all the others- then what is the real number?
Is it actually NEGATIVE?????

He sounds like an employee that is about to be fired for incompetence. All the excuses and attempts to deflect responsibility and explain away why it isn't his fault or why his plans haven't worked have worn very thin even with the most lenient of independents.

Just before these numbers came out I heard a deputy mouthpice from the white house assuring us that we would be seeing 150,000 to 200,000 new jobs. The a-holes just make it up as they go along, and don't even try to sound convincing anymore.

POTUS Obama is destroying the USA economy and jobs by his own design!!! You know what has been one the greatest drawbacks on job creation (There are many negative economy actions, all caused by POTUS Obama & the Democrat Party)??? Gasoline prices, driven up by purely Obama input!!! And....they, gas prices are climbing quickly again!!! Methinks the time has arrived for millions of Americans to speak out to both Democrat & Republican politicians, demanding the resignation or impeachment of Barack Hussein Obama & Joe Biden, one, a hater and destroyer of America, the other, an outright, blooming, buffoon!!!

Obama just doesn't get it, does he? And neither do any of the democrats; to a one, they all think that bondage is freedom.

I just started a job last week after a very long period of unemployment. I'm presently telemarketing doing fund raising for various foundations and charities, e.g. breast cancer, veterans, police, etx. 20 years experience in the field as a software developer with now legacy code, and over the last 4 years accomplishing three concurrent associates degrees in object oriented programming including data-base (SQL), and web-development (courtesy of taxpayer sponsored MichgainWorks! program), I garnered ONE interview over the last year and a half.
So now I'm working 20 hours weekly at $7.40 / hour. That'll cut into the food stamps, but $140 weekly will subsidize Federal Bank of Mom & Dad (retired) anti-homeless efforts on my behalf.
In any case, what I've heard over and over again over the last two weeks: "No. I can't donate. I just lost my job" And these people are tore up about that they CAN'T help.
The stories I'm hearing are hair raising. Undoubtedly there's a fair number of atypical sob story to get the telemarketer off their backs, but the number of people that are indicating that they're in the same boat as my folks are in providing for me is just phenomenal; its staggering to contemplate.
Based on what I can tell, a ball of crap began rolling down hill sometime about 8 months ago and is gathering mass as it careens down-slope. Its common to hear people say they're unemployed for over one year, but the number who are indicating they just lost their job is very alarming.

Most economists believe that cutting spending will reduce growth, not boost it, and that additional government spending is needed in the short term to create demand. same economists that thought the porkulus would help the economy...
