Casey Anthony juror Jennifer Ford said today that she and the other jurors cried and were "sick to our stomachs" after voting to acquit Casey Anthony of charges that she killed her 2-year-old daughter Caylee.
"I did not say she was innocent," said Ford, who had previously only been identified as juror number 3. "I just said there was not enough evidence. If you cannot prove what the crime was, you cannot determine what the punishment should be."
The jury's jaw dropping not guilty verdict shocked court observers, but it was also a difficult moment for the panel, Ford said in an exclusive interview with ABC News. No one from the jury was willing to come out and talk to the media in the hours after the verdict.
"Everyone wonders why we didn't speak to the media right away," Ford said. "It was because we were sick to our stomach to get that verdict. We were crying and not just the women. It was emotional and we weren't ready. We wanted to do it with integrity and not contribute to the sensationalism of the trial."
Instead of murder, Casey Anthony, 25, was found guilty of four counts of lying to law enforcement and could be released from jail as early as Thursday.
Ford praised the jurors.
"They picked a great bunch of people, such high integrity. And there was high morale," she said. "We all joked. We are like a big group of cousins."
Casey Anthony Prosecutor: 'All Came Down to Cause of Death'
Earlier today, the prosecutor and an alternate juror agreed on why the jury had refused to convict Anthony: They couldn't prove how little Caylee Anthony died.
"It all came down to the evidence," said Florida state attorney Jeff Ashton on "The View."

Was she paid to talk?????
This is such crap. The evidence for manslaughter, at least, was overwhelming. And for murder it was a slam-dunk for anyone who added up all of the coincidental evidence. And yes, if there is enough coincidental evidence, and it forms a tight enough pattern, it is enough to convict for murder one.
If Casey was a man, she would have been convicted of first degree murder, and no one would even remotely question it.

You were sick to your stomachs AND you were joking around??
Eff you Ford and the rest of your clown jurors.
Dennis Miller said it best tonight when he said Anthony was entitled to a jury of 12 of her peers. She’s a moron and they managed to find 12 other morons. LOL!
WHAT THE HELL? She is "sick to our stomachs", what the hell?
When you checked that NOT GUILTY box, you knew what you were doing. Are you as STUPID AS YOU SOUND with that statement.
Did you think that was a trick question? Simple question, Guilty, Not Guilty, just which one did YOU check madamn?
You make me sick to my stomach, you idiot.

Then *why* did you vote that way? Good grief.
She left her little girl “lost” for 31 days (before her body was found). The girl ended up dead. BUT.....someone said she was still “a good mother!”
“Huekler said he believed Caylee’s death was just a horrific accident and that Casey Anthony was a good mother.”
You can’t fix stupid.
Right there is a good reason to bring the jury back and start questioning them about their behavior ~ and sending the guilty ones to jail to depurge themselves!
Oh cry me a river you ignorant woman! I hope you never forget what you and those 11 other morons have done.

Are you playing the man vs. woman card?
The evidence was not overwhelming, you don’t know the whole story, you were not in the court room, you got all of your info from the media...just let it go.
The jury has ruled. Hopefully you get an open-minded jury when you are charged with a crime.
Yep. This same jury that "couldn't find the facts" for any conviction, somehow believed Casey when she said Caylee drowned in the pool, even though there are no facts to support that contention - and it's being made by the same person they DID convict for what? Lying! And lying about what? Her missing daughter!
Yeah, they were really driven by facts.
:: spit ::
That explains it, doesn't it.
The prosecutors blew it, they were never able to determine cause of death...see
http://www.foxnews.com/on-air/on-the-record/transcript/casey-anthony-case-csi-look-forensic-evidence
And then the body was cremated, to where no further forensics could be performed..the whole thing stinks...
There you go. Some people persist in thinking that the problem here wasn't the jury. It's just that the prosecution didn't do a good job. Nope. They were idiots.
They weren't being asked to determine the punishment. That would only have happened if they had voted guilty on the 1st degree murder charge, and that would have been a separate proceeding.
Can't prove what the crime was? Let's see. The child's body is found in bag, dumped in a field, with duct tape wrapped around the head. Call me naive, but I think the crime we're looking at here is pretty obvious. But I guess I don't have an idiot's perspective.
“Why was she aware of “sensationalism”? “
The jury saw the throngs of people and media in and out of the courthouse.
They knew that they were hearing a case in Orlando because the Orlando jury pool was so tainted by media coverage.
