Casey Anthony Juror: 'Sick to Our Stomachs' Over Not Guilty Verdict
ABC NEWS ^ | July 6,2011 | MARY KATE BURKE, JESSICA HOPPER and ENJOLI FRANCIS

Casey Anthony juror Jennifer Ford said today that she and the other jurors cried and were "sick to our stomachs" after voting to acquit Casey Anthony of charges that she killed her 2-year-old daughter Caylee.

"I did not say she was innocent," said Ford, who had previously only been identified as juror number 3. "I just said there was not enough evidence. If you cannot prove what the crime was, you cannot determine what the punishment should be."

The jury's jaw dropping not guilty verdict shocked court observers, but it was also a difficult moment for the panel, Ford said in an exclusive interview with ABC News. No one from the jury was willing to come out and talk to the media in the hours after the verdict.

"Everyone wonders why we didn't speak to the media right away," Ford said. "It was because we were sick to our stomach to get that verdict. We were crying and not just the women. It was emotional and we weren't ready. We wanted to do it with integrity and not contribute to the sensationalism of the trial."

Instead of murder, Casey Anthony, 25, was found guilty of four counts of lying to law enforcement and could be released from jail as early as Thursday.

Ford praised the jurors.

"They picked a great bunch of people, such high integrity. And there was high morale," she said. "We all joked. We are like a big group of cousins."

Casey Anthony Prosecutor: 'All Came Down to Cause of Death'

Earlier today, the prosecutor and an alternate juror agreed on why the jury had refused to convict Anthony: They couldn't prove how little Caylee Anthony died.

"It all came down to the evidence," said Florida state attorney Jeff Ashton on "The View."

Last night the forensic scientist who is the brain behind Bones was on Joy Behar’s show and said the CSI affect is so bad right now she is holding a symposium with nations prosecutors to discuss how they deal with it.

That is another thing I heard last night — I think it was a jury consultant — that people who lack a college degree have a very difficult time understanding and accepting forensic, scientific, evidence.

actually, while that is supposed to be true theoretically, in this case since they were out of Orlando while choosing the jury, Judge Perry set a rigid timeframe for jury selection. The prosecution actually wanted many of these jurors removed and Perry overruled them.... so no, Prosecution did NOT get the jury they wanted, clearly defense did.

Well, guess what, Lady: Most people in this great country are DISGUSTED with you. Your "Not Innocent But Not Enough Evidence" cr@p is falling on deaf ears.

Try dining in a certain restaurant in Pinellas County that has a great, big sign on its door saying, "Casey Anthony Jurors NOT Welcome". Ha! That is just the beginning, you lazy, idiot, liberal jerk. Think you're gonna make another dime on your "celebrity"? Not with all the boycott missions in the works. You and the rest of the Dumbass Pinellas 12 are OUTCASTS.

All Criminal Lawyers: We know who you are ---- go away.

>>The other mistake was in not granting the prosecution their peremptory challenge to the dame who “didn’t want to judge people.”<<

I heard on a talk show today...was it Steve Malzberg?...that the woman was black, therefore there was some rule that she couldn’t be removed.

Political Correctness is idiocy, and it is going to kill us as a nation.

>>I’ll have to find it but last night I read a quote from a juror (not sure if it is this particular one) who said “if we had sent Casey to death we’d be murderers too”<<

It was this brainiac.

>>Hannity seems very proud of himself for agreeing with the jury. <<

That’s the thing about Hannity, no matter stupid or pigheaded his positions, he plows on with them without a second thought.

Then what was all that bull**** about this jury being "death qualified" because they confirmed they would will be willing to vote for the death penalty??

They didn't lie, did they?

I think sensational drag-on-forever trials like this one makes sequestered jurors want to just get it the hell over with and will agree on anything to just go home.

That being said, it was a stupid verdict.

Mike Gallager is right, juries should be professionals.

“Where is her justice?”

In a loving, merciful God. Not now on this Earth.

Caylee’s justice/reward are eternal. Casey will have a short shelf life as a party girl/celebrity, and ultimately face that same God and her own eternal justice.

Yes, it IS true!!! I just saw it on our So. FL news. If I lived near Clearwater, I’d go! The place is called Skyline Chili. Looks like a small restaurant in strip mall. If anyone knows or lives near Skyline Chili, please support them!

A few months ago I was called for jury duty on a civil case over a car accident. When we got into deliberations, one of the jurors wanted to know why there was no DNA to tell us what happened.

She believed DNA was a (no, I’m unfortunately not kidding) just “like a DVD that can be put into a player to watch what happened”. She had seen that on a movie or television show, she could not remember, and argued with us that we should demand the DNA to “watch”.

We eventually did not award any monies to the woman who sued but arguing with the juror and her DNA fantasy took hours. The shear stupidity and ignorance of people is astounding, shocking and frankly afraid for this nation.

well - that’s how it happens on the crime shows.
The scientist looks at test result -stares off to the side- and we all see the crime replayed as it happened.

So what’s your problem?

Exactly the problem - life isn’t a crime show and all to many people think it is.

Jurors want DNA, a video showing the crime, full confession, witnesses (not realizing eye witnesses are often VERY wrong) and a Perry Mason trial moment.
