I served on a 1st degree jury. They are very explicit about the “bloody hands” rule. The evidence must show the perp did it. There wasn’t that much evidence linking Casey to the crime that the jury could see/

I guess that's why.

Except... I can't believe she didn't do it. I can't believe any mom would've acted the way she did, and be innocent.

I served on a first degree jury. The guy was found guilty. It was a death penalty case too. Of course, it was California and it was over 20 years ago. Oh, and the victim was a homeless drug addict thief. But, the murderer killed him and went to prison for it. Nowadays, no one wants to take the responsibility of stating the obvious and finding a criminal guilty.
