I get outraged when it seems clear that the innocent of horrific abuse and murder go free.
Nevertheless, sometimes I remember, in Moses construction on legal realities as I understand it, there had to be 3 witnesses TO THE MURDER to convict. Wasn’t it the same for adultery?

FASCINATING letters between the family- Rick gave a very plausible scenario given what they knew at the time- but that was before duct tape and skeletal remains. He seemed to be the only sane member of the family back then- it’s a loony bin.

I agree with most on this thread. The acquittal was an abomination. It seems that common sense and logic were ellusive concepts to these jurors. Did not one of them look at the big picture?......connect the dots?
I have a question. If, as the defense offered, that poor baby died of an accidental drowning, why was her body staged to look like a homicide? Even a cover-up doesn’t make sense for that.
Jury selection in this case was a crucial factor. I am nearly 70 years old and have been summoned about eight times for jury duty......not once selected. A very dear friend is an attorney. I asked him about this. He said that Christian, conservative, well-educated, white women were usually the first to be exempted. I found his response terribly sad.

Proves nothing. It was explained that the fact that the body was so decomposed, spent so much time in a swamp during a huricane no less, that there would be little if anything to find.
An innocent child is dead and no one can tell us how or why.

I see what you’re saying, but ultimately, the difference isn’t as significant as you say. The bottom line is that a significant number of abortions in this country are for the same reason Casey probably killed her daughter, because it cramped their style. At one time, you could maybe argue that women having an abortion were ignorant, but not anymore.

I was interrupted right about the time I sent you guys the post and just finished reading the entire email chain between Cindy and her brother Rick.
My God, the whole damn family is totally crazy...the Texas Equisearch guy was right. No wonder he bailed and is suing the family!. The brother Rick was right on the money: he ascertained Caylee was dead and Casey was a lying sociopath and certainly let her sister know it in no uncertain terms. Her certainly was direct: "You belong in a looney bin...everyone thinks you and George are the stupidest people on the planet...come back to reality...you are a moron...I can't believe my sister is really this dumb...I always thought George was an a-hole...you both need psychiatric help....you are killing Mom...", etc.
Not to mention that her brother accuses Cindy of destroying evidence by washing the pants with the decomposition fluids on them.
WAIT until the National Enquirer gets a hold of these letters.
I'm not happy about the way this thing went down and was shocked as anyone when I heard the verdict.
I also understand they could of given her 2nd degree murder with the aggravated child abuse and still got the death penalty, but did not choose to go there.
I wonder how much of putting a *woman* to death played into the decision? From what I hear, Floridians don't like that prospect.
I realize from a technical standpoint, you are correct, but that’s not how my mind works. I can’t avoid thinking to myself whether she’s guilty or not rather than whether or not the state is proving their case beyond a reasonable doubt. How can you in good conscience vote to acquit somebody you think has committed murder? I’ve always felt that if the Constitution has a weakness, this is it. The Founding Fathers couldn’t have foreknown that trials would simply become about who has the slicker lawyers rather than absolute truth. They also couldn’t have known that lawyers would only care about victory rather than justice.
