If Barack Obama had half a sense of humor he would respond to this like Mark Twain was once reported to have done upon seeing his supposed obituary — “the reports of my demise have been greatly exaggerated.” And otherwise leave it alone while the Secret Service quietly investigates. That’s probably what George W. Bush would have done. Incidentally, George W. Bush broke the supposed zero-year curse on US presidents — nobody made an assassination attempt upon him and he survived to leave office, although he narrowly dodged a thrown pair of sandals in Iraq. Would this suggest that the curse goes to the next president?

I’ve heard rumors of attempts on former Pres. Bush. Rumors were squashed because of the poisonous political climate, and the instability of certain sectors of the voting public, I think.

Actually, it was Ronaldus Magnus that broke the ‘Zero-Year” curse. Remember...he was elected in 1980. Be danged if John Hinckley didn’t try...but God was with President Reagan. I remember reading somewhere of a group of Christians praying specifically that Reagan be protected from the curse. Looks like he was, eh?
