I believe that there are kids in the vicinity of this store. The alledged perp could have donated this gun at his local gang headquarters so that the kids would have easy access to unused firearms.

You nailed it. In Cincinnati dealers hide guns in bushes around neighborhoods
for rental purposes, then after a few shootings they dump them in the Ohio river.

It's not as bad lately but anything could set off another Over the Rhine mob.
