What they do, they create the feeling of the party on a particular bill up in the Delaware senate (they’d do this national too only no Repubs in the national law houses). So the bill up to allow very dumb manufactured home owners to demand that the landlords do not get to raise their land rates if their net profit is over a certain amount.

Okay, I did some investigating and I apologize. Above is a quote from my very first post on this thread, I stand corrected...you did quote me accurately.

quick background, there is a big debate ongoing in Delaware about a Delaware law in process that would give owners of manufactured homes ownership control of the land on which their home sits to them, taking it away from the person who owns the land.

It’s a bad law, as proposed.

But I hadn’t discussed it on this forum and wondered where your quote came from. I went back to a long missive somewhere else that I’d written aboout this thing (which did not pass as of now) and did not see those words.

Moving on....perhaps it isn’t obvious in the excerpt above, but I was tongue-in-cheek about manufactured home owners being dumb as this is how the communists who want to take control of the land away from its rightful owners TREAT them. “They are too dumb to handle their own affairs so we (the Democratically controlled “Manufactured Home Owners Association”) will speak for them)”.

The quote is a cut and post from a previous post, which I made obvious within my post on this thread. A further clarification was on the post from which I quoted.

but hey, we live in a politically correct world so kudos to you for finding this. I post a lot on this thread and will have these sorts of things happen now and again.

But somebody will find it and be the hero.

I should not have cast aspersions on what you quoted, I had no idea where you’d gotten it, I went back and checked my previous writings, NOT on Freerepublic cause I had never discussed this here, could not find those words, and thought you was playing a trick.

So sorry for that and hey, CONGRATS for picking that up! And be sure to make it public and humiliate me without asking me for explanation...you’re my hero!

“And be sure to make it public and humiliate me without asking me for explanation...you’re my hero!”

I just saw your posting earlier on FR and thought you were making fun of MHOs (some people do). No way intended to humiliate, but since I once had a “manufactured home” when I was 20, I felt the need to stand up for other MHOs everywhere! :-)

It’s an interesting scenario you wrote about, though. When someone buys a large parcel of land, then develops it and builds subdivisions, each buyer purchases the lot as well as the house, be it spec or custom.

But having helped borrowers get financing to buy or develop mobile home parks, I realize it’s usually done differently. Been so long since I lived in one, I’d forgotten. But yes, we bought the mobile home first then looked for a good park and paid rental on the “pad”.

So what you described is yet another example of the government’s harebrained ideas. Doesn’t sound like they think the MHOs are stupid, but that they (the govt.) would be doing something wonderful (now THAT’S stupid)!
