I’ve heard Perry’s explanations. Quite frankly, they doesn’t make sense. Yeah, a fence won’t stop everyone. But it sure as heck will slow them down and make it easier to spot them crossing the border if the fence is properly constructed and maintain. IMO Perry’s border fence opposition is pandering to the Hispanic lobby.

Three months after his executive order Perry allowed the law that re(s)cinded it.

True. However, Perry's willingness to compromise personal liberty is one giant strike against him.

No I didn't. I've read enough of Perry's explanations in the past to know it's BS. And I am not opposed to a Perry candidacy, but I will call BS when I see it, even when it's uttered by a candidate I would otherwise be inclined to support.

Israel has shown that border fences can be quite effective. A fence by itself is not the solution, but it is an integral part of defense in depth. Yeah, you could take steps to defend the border without it, but a fence makes all the other elements much more effective. That is the point Perry and other fence critics miss.

Yeah, a fence won’t stop everyone.

Depends on the fence. 50 ft high and another 50ft into the dirt ought to stop about 99.9% of all foot and vehicle traffic across the border.

Fence critics like to say a 25 foot fence can be defeated with a 26 foot ladder. But first of all, it's not easy lugging a 26 foot ladder across the Rio Grande or through the desert, and second, it sure as heck slows ya down having to climb up the ladder, and the first step on the other side is a doozy, and, like you said, it completely blocks vehicular traffic.

IMO Perry's fence opposition is pandering. It is much less obnoxious than past pandering by the likes of Bush, Rove and McCain, but is still pandering nonetheless.

As we’ve seen they dig under fences, they tunnel under towns, they climb over the fences, they drive across in cars and trucks, they fly over the fences.....

Please listen to the audio file I linked in Post #21 and think about what Perry says.

And the Texas border with Mexico is longer than the fence Israel built — a LOT longer.

The most powerful Republican Jewish organization is the Republican Jewish Coalition. Lots o big Jewish conservative donors attended and so did Rick Perry at their big meeting in Las Vegas last February. Perry spoke there

Perry in angling for the Jewish bucks right now. More power to him!!

To do a good job, get a powerful magnifying glass and then look at each and every hair. Then when you think you see a nit, pick it from the hair.

Such is the guardisil incident, a trivial totally unimportant opportunity to create an incident from the vacuum of nothingness. It amounts to less than a single nit

Using that logic, we should remove all walls around jails, as prisoners dig under the walls from time to time. Like I said, a fence by itself is not a solution, but it is an integral part of security in depth.

Please listen to the audio file I linked in Post #21 and think about what Perry says.

I will, but I fully expect it to be a different wrapper on the same old crapola.

And the Texas border with Mexico is longer than the fence Israel built — a LOT longer.

So that means we need to get busy building it instead of stalling it. Texas does have an advantage over NM, AZ and California - it does have a natural moat along the border, i.e. the Rio Grande. So the objections of tunneling and driving past a fence are countered in the case of Texas - you can't just drive over the Rio Grande to get the truck carrying ladders to the fence. Try swimming the Rio Grande with a 30 foot aluminum ladder.

That is what I am talking about - objections such as yours fall apart once logic is applied to them. I get sick of that kind of idiocy. Just call Perry's stance here what it is - pandering - and go to the next issue.

Perry didn't explain JACK regarding opposition to the border fence in that interview - he instead pointed out how he is leading the way in pointing out fedgov failures to control the border. And in a way, he undercut his case regarding opposition to the fence, as the fedgov has mandated a fence and Perry opposes it. And we saw in Arizona just how worthless a virtual fence is, so all his talk of drones is hot air without other measures to make drones more effective. He wants more recon on the border - now imagine how much easier it is to spot someone climbing over a 25-foot fence than it is to spot groups moving through brush.

That's what I mean. I am inclined to support Perry overall. But don't insult my intelligence and make me waste ten minutes finding and listening to something that does not address the concerns I have raised. That just pisses me off and makes me question the veracity of your advocacy for Perry. Tell it straight and don't play the bamboozle game. Freepers are smart enough to see right through it.

Forced vaccinations is sinister, made all the more sinister combined with Bilderberg and Trans-Texas Corridor. Bachmann’s background is starting to look awfully sketchy. But nothing sinister that I can see. Palin is looking better and better.
