These are details of historic accuracy of which I'm sure Professor Schama would approve.

But I have to laugh a little. My personal suspicion is that the good Professor doesn't know many Tea Party people, or he'd scarcely say such a silly thing. He apparently is reacting to stereotypes, and for historians that is a cardinal sin.

I think all conservatives should be encouraged to seriously study history, the sciences, civics, theology etc. My interests run toward history and science so they’ve become a bit of a hobby to me.

The point is to become capable of destroying these elitists in a debate. Plus, education is never a bad thing and we’re never too old to learn. The schools aren’t going to teach this stuff so we’re going to have to.

Even my tagline is a nudge in the direction of learning our history.
