how did the writer know that someone in the
neighborhood said “there goes the neighborhood?”
is that the type of comment you volunteer
to a washington post reporter?
because they’ll be so sympathetic?
i imagine writer made that up. by the
way, my community consists of expensive
and nice homes surrounded by apartments
that were overbuilt in last three decades. they are
now filled with section 8 inhabitants and illegal immigrants.
the level of crime has gone exploded from almost nothing
to nonstop.

In my area their is very little section 8 housing. From the small amount of section 8 housing, you can tell the difference just form driving by. They look run down compared to residences where people pay the rent/mortgage out of their own pockets.

I say go by that house in a few months and compare it to the others.
