Medicare chief actuary Richard Foster says the situation keeps him up at night.

"I don't generally comment on the pros or cons of policy, but that just doesn't make sense," Foster said during a question-and-answer session at a recent professional society meeting.

"This is a situation that got no attention at all," added Foster. "And even now, as I raise the issue with various policymakers, people are not rushing to say ... we need to do something about this."

"The fact that this is being discovered now tells you, what else is baked into this law?" said Leavitt [Utah Governor], who served as Health and Human Services secretary under President George H.W. Bush. "It clearly begins to reveal that the nature of the law was to put more and more people under eligibility for government insurance."

They had to sign it to find out what was in it, but they still haven't gotten around to reading it. Many surprises ahead.

But my Rep, Walz D-Mn said he read the bill, even used it against his Republican opponent who didn’t even VOTE on the bull, I mean bill...

Be clear about this:
The industry groups and advocacy groups for health insurance agents and brokers have been bringing this up, including in Congressional testimony in the Thomas Register, since before the (unread by politicians) bill was presented on the Floor of the House.

I’ve linked to some of these early analysis on FR during the time of the fight over 96 hours to read the bill before voting.
