The problem here is between the Weeper in the house and McConnell in the senate
,the ground work is in place for a major screw-up landing in our lap....and that's the real problem, these "leaders" have their heads in the sand (I'm being polite :)
they have all of their strategists in DC, they have (actively) ignored the political mainstream.

I would accept short dept limit hikes only in exchange for proportional permanent cuts. Perhaps I would be open to a small alteration in dept limit scheme to force the president to shut down departments in order.
