There are lots of jobs in which people are unable to sit for their 8 hour work day. Are we, the taxpayer and consumer, to pay for these people to have seats? Is CA willing to lose even more jobs by forcing this ridiculous requirement upon employers? Accommodations for those who need it is one thing. Forcing all employers to provide all employees a chair to sit upon is madness.

Guess my days of having 20 or so loads of asphalt on the job with the crew and another 20 or so on the road will no longer be an option since we will have to provide lawn chairs (with umbrellas, I suppose)for the workers.
Still makes my ‘leg twitch’ when driving down an interstate and see a paving operation with trucks lined up as far as the eye can see.
BTW, I was completely ‘hands on’, my truck was either at one end of the job or the other and I spent the majority of the day right out there in the sun, will the workers...in fact, I basically had one employee that did little more than bring my truck to me when I need the radio.

Of course, I was apt to ‘sneak off’ and grab a brewsky several times a day, but it was usually so hot that you would ‘burn’ them right out of your system.
In the evening would get down to some VERY SERIOUS Budweiser Time.
