That's because you've learned to be polite ~ you just don't "look". That's the Japanese standard ~ stuff goes on that's none of your business you don't act as if you'd seen it.

Virtually any older man can tell you about the belt/gut interface failure. Then there's the OPEN FLY. Once you hit 60 it happens without warning. By the time you are 70 NO ONE CARES.

I’m with Hulka on this one. I’m not Japanese and I’m always looking around at my fellow passengers for signs of trouble, fuses sticking out of shoes, guys trying to light their underwear on fire, etc.

I pay VERY close attentiuon to what is going on. Especially on an aircraft.

I think you “see” those incidents because it is something you want to see. . .not that there is anything wrong with that. . .
