There is about 52 B-17s left either as a museum piece, or in parts, or in flying condition.
There is now about 10 that are airworthy.

For the record, there were 12,731 built at the cost of $ US $238,329 ( don't know if that was 1940s US dollar, or 2011 US Dollar ) ....
Greatest time to live in the USA 40s, 50s, 60s, right up until 70's.
