FALSE. What that governor would be called is a Good Steward. The oil in Alaska belongs to the state of Alaska. A good governor would attempt to do exactly what Sarah Palin did, ie., get the best price for that oil that she could from the companies that were given the leases to extract it.
She was acting as the CEO of the state's business and she did a hell of a job. She secured the best contract that she could for the people of her state. What more could you expect? That she give the oil to the drilling companies because they contributed to her campaign? That is the crony capitalism method. Palin was no crony capitalist. She got down and dirty with the CEOs of the major oil companies and negotiated the best contract that anyone could have.

But that kind of talk always creeps me out.
I certainly do NOT want any gov’t employee having the authority over me that a CEO, rightly, has over his/her employees.
That analogy ALWAYS bugs me.
