Tell that to the Palin Protectorate already calling the OP troll and DUmmie. They dont stop to read the article - they just read a few words and start attacking.
Sorry Raybbr,
But this issue has been already beat to death on FreeRepublic many, many times.
The debate was exhaustive and proven not to be an issue from a conservative perspective.
By the AK State Constitution, the Oil Resources are the property of the citizens of the State of AK. So when she gets a law past that forces the Oil company to pay for privilege to manufacture that Oil and those "taxes" go right back to the citizens, then there is no socialism involved. Just capitalism.

Welcome to the Palin Spin Machine. Saint Sarah can do no wrong.
Welcome to the mindless dribble of PDS sufferers.

Obviously you are unfamiliar with Alaska politics and the Alaska state constitution.
According to the Alaska state constitution, the state of Alaska and its people own all mineral right. Many Alaskan politicians, especially Republicans, were controlled by the oil companies and were receiving bribes and kickbacks from the oil companies. Many of these officials ended up in prison. The Alaska constitution was written before Palin was born, but it was her job to enforce it as governor.

Great Post. Those on FR who are so quick to label someone as a RINO when there is a small violation of this or that litmus test would find it difficult to get along even among themselves. And then there are those whose support of a given candidate borders on idolatry who will not stand for the slightest criticism or even hint of criticism. For many I wonder if the freedom of speech is even in their personal copy of the Bill of Rights.
And yet none of that emotional rant applies to this post, however strong your feelings on the matter are.
There was nothing socialistic about this law, it was a win-win for the citizens of AK.
By the State Constitution, the Oil resources are the property of the citizens. This law passed the profits that the State got from the Oil companies manufacturing Oil right back to the citizens.
So why don't you explain to everyone why that is a bad thing from a conservative perspective?
To: indianrightwinger
No negative comments about Palin are allowed on FR. :-)Yeah, what's funny though, is I didn't post anything negative about Palin. The OP didn't either. Just the implication, or intimation of anything negative about Palin brings out the Protectorate. Just look at the responses to me on this thread. I never said the OP was right but I'm getting all kinds of posts as if I had.

Obviously you know nothing about the Alaska state constitution and are more than happy to remain blissfully ignorant.

They already know the history. Its the poster that doesn't understand that what she did was the correct action. Apparently you don't either.I don't care, either. It's the idea that no one can ever say anything construed as negative about Palin on FR lest they be attacked and called names.

We are discussing facts and I made a point of explaining the reason for my post.
No you are presenting an article from a known and openenly left-wing Press outfit that leaves out many of the most important facts in order to paint a negative picture of Sarah Palin.
The facts have been explained to you multiple times on this thread alone, and have been posted "Ad Nauseum" on FreeRepublic, but don't let that get in the way of your opinion.
To: bwc2221; UniqueViews
She helped enact a windfall profits tax that was over and above the existing law.
Her successor is now trying to cut that tax.

Hey Capt Obvious, We already know that your are over taken with PDS and dont care about the facts.

That's not what has happened on this thread and it rarely happens on other Sarah threads either.
Sarah supporters are very good at providing logic, facts, and history to support their positions and support for Sarah and they even take Sarah to task when they have felt she has wandered off the reservation, so to speak.
I don't expect any of this to change your stated opinion.
Like Rush stated recently, "there are two types of people where Sarah is concerned, those who know exactly where she is coming from, and those who pretend not too."
Keep those blinders on Raybrr and good luck with that PDS!

To 8 - Nicely put. Those who criticize Palin over this I suppose would give the oil away to the oil co.s if it were discovered on their land.

You guys crack me up. For the thousandth time: It's not Palin I am posting about - it's the abject adoration for a woman who's nothing but a commentator on Fox that makes me wince with embarrassment.
But go ahead, keep calling me names if it makes you feel better about yourselves.
