Properly, Netanyahu should present a counter-proposal of equal value as a starting point for negotiations. That counter-proposal would be the expulsion of all Palestinians from Israel into Egypt and Jordan, the nationalization of all non-Jewish holy sites in Israel, and that the al-Asqa mosque be razed and replaced with a new Jewish Temple, with no other mosques allowed in the country.
Given Obama’s proposal, and this counter-proposal, then Netanyahu might suggest meeting halfway, more or less.
