Mathews' type thinks American history began in 1900 and American civilization started on Ellis Island. The mindset seems to think had it not been for the despised religious rednecks that came here earlier, later arriving Euro-centric immigrants would have made this continent a veritable Garden of Eden among the peace loving indigenous children of nature.
That which Mathews despises did the cultural dirty work on this continent so that the urban left can safely assume moral superiority over the and only illegitimate culture in the world-ordinary Christian-oriented Americans.
