Revenge is a dish best served cold. Or even room temperature.

How utterly sad to intentionally be so unforgiving as you prepare to meet your maker.

We will be judged as we judge, to paraphrase the Good Book.

May God have mercy on her.

I loathe Edwards like everyone else, but this? Now their children will have no parents. How damn selfish were both of these people? Geez.

I hope she forgave him. For if she didn’t forgive him, the Father will not forgive her. And I didn’t make this up.

This is a woman who tried to dupe us all into thinking the man would make a suitable president by parading herself around as a courageous potential first lady in the face of her disease. What a horrible testament to one’s life by getting revenge revenge on her slimeball counterpart as she gasps for her last breath. UGH! May justice be served to them both!

John Edwards would have been better off pleading guilty for a reduce charge to avoid a public trial. Prime example of her being a smarter attorney than him.

“Be sure your sins will find you out.”

Or, as Charles Stanley says, “You reap what you sow, later than you sow, more than you sow.”

Pitiful, pitiful people. God give the kids grace & peace.

I was thinking that too. Talk about making him pay.

It is sad she couldn’t die in Peace though.

The whole group is evil.

Bent on revenge as you approach death? I guess it's safe to say she wasn't a Christian.

I disagree with the posters on this thread who disparaged EE because she recorded this video describing what her (then) husband did that was illegal. What was she supposed to do, remain alive long enough to testify? I’m sure she wished that she could.

I don’t think it is evidence that she was vindictive or hateful to record this video. She merely had no other way to be around to testify so she had to preserve her testimony this way.

She could have totally forgiven him prior to filming the video, but wanted justice to be served. It didn’t have to be about revenge.

Not defending Edwards, but how is this admissible? Given her motive to seek revenge against Edwards, I’d think that a video deposition where the defense does not have the opportunity to cross examine would be thrown out in short order. Depositions of the written and electronic sort are sometimes allowed, but not usually under these circumstances.

When Elizabeth died, her friends basically said, one of her best virtues was you “always knew where you stood with her - she didn’t say things she didn’t mean”.

They also said she was a terrific lawyer. “You always knew where you stand with her” pretty much translates to, “She’s got a wicked mouth, and has no problem giving people hell.”

Her husband destroyed their marriage, but he was still the father of her kids and they were married 30 years. So she records a testimony that will probably put him in jail.

IMHO, E. was probably not a very nice person. And she was going to get him. I don’t know about other people, but if I was on my deathbed the last thing on my mind would be about making others suffer, even if well deserved.

I would have so many other things to be concerned with.

There’s no doubt that Elizabeth Edwards was wronged by her husband, but she participated in his evil screwing of others for years and happily reaped the financial benefits from it. She only cared when the weasel she was married to turned weasel on her. Also, I can’t think that going out with that much vengeance in your heart can be good for the soul. Seems like there’s a time to let things go and on your deathbed would be a good time. Still, if she’s an evil ghost now, I hope she haunts the both of them. I don’t know if an author could come up with a sleazier, more flawed couple than the Edwards and the complete ditz and promiscuous mistress Hunter.

What do you expect - Hillary was her best friend and advisor. And John was the one who broke ground against Her Heinous in the debates, to challenge her coronation, starting her downfall.

Hillary advised Elizabeth what to do, and now Hillary is doing her damndest to get it used against John.

It's like watching insects fight. Which one do you root for?

John Edwards is a slime ball. His mistress is not much better, they deserve each other. Elizabeth suffered not only from her cancer but from his behavior. Essentially he killed her twice. Frankly, I hope he does go to jail.

The world is so over the Edwards. I’m as tired of them as I am the Kardashians.

All I can say about Edwards is, too bad he didn’t prevail in the Democrat primaries in ‘08.
