I supported Rick Santorum when he was in the Senate. He was a strong force for the Right to Life.

Then he got booby-trapped by Bush and Rove, and agreed to endorse Arlen Specter. I forgave him that, because I think they twisted his arm, and I argued that conservatives should not get into a snit and stay home, because he was far better than his Dem opponent.

But conservatives did stay home, and he lost.

But over the past year or so, he seems to have changed his stripes. I think he really is an opportunist RINO now. I think he has shown himself willing to do anything to appease the establishment and get himself nominated.

Stupid move. Now he simply cannot be trusted for the office of dog catcher. He has waffled on one thing after another, until he has shown that he no longer has any principles. Too bad.

Santorum says he cut a deal so Specter, the judiciary chairman, would support and usher in the confirmation any supreme court nominees Bush nominated, no matter how conservative. Specter denies it, Sestak made a stink about it. I don’t know if it is true or not. I would like to know what Bush says about it, if anything or if he was involved at all.
