"Facebook is a private company. They can establish their own rules for using the service."

It's often easier to cause heartburn from within the belly of the beast. Who's gonna know if you really believe the mindless, liberal statements you post anyway? You can be whoever you want to be. All that's needed is an email address and those are free.

“Who’s gonna know if you really believe the mindless, liberal statements you post anyway?”

When did it become liberal to believe free markets entitle a private company to determine who it will serve and under what conditions? To compel Facebook to involuntarily provide services to a group or individuals is tyranny whether the beneficiaries are liberals or conservatives.

To me compelling Facebook to change its service policies is no different from the federal government compelling citizens to purchase health insurance. Too many conservatives are as hypocritical as liberals in wanting to use the heavy hand of government to compel behavior in other people or institutions they desire or stop behavior they detest. The power of government used to restrict freedom in the private sector is tyranny whether it is wielded by liberals or conservatives.

Like Thomas Jefferson I believe, “That government is best which governs the least, because its people discipline themselves.” If that makes me a liberal in your eyes, so be it.
