I feel pretty stupid for asking this question, but we’re all friends here, right?

When someone tells me to boot into a safe mode (or any other mode, for that matter), I have no idea what they are talking about.

I just walk up to my computer and it’s on. I don’t know how to find a mode, safe or otherwise. I click on Free Republic. That isn’t the “safe mode?”

:)

Okay, so you need someone there with more understanding. Do you have a friend, family member you can call and have them come over to help. I’m afraid the advice being offered here won’t be of much use, and since were all remote, we can’t really help all that much.

You need someone local and live, to help you out.

“Safe Mode” is you computer operating in stripped down mode just using essentials. So stripped that the virus or Trojan has no effect (hopefully) You fix your computer then bot into normal mode

To get into SM you tap F8 as computer is booting up
