I have family who live in the LA basin. I know what you mean.
I lived in Southern California during the Watts riots. My family was out past Whittier, so we weren’t directly affected. But the lady who cleaned our house live in Watts. My mom invited her and her two daughters to stay with us during the riots, but her mom lived there, too, and she didn’t want to leave her invalid mother alone.
Maybe men don’t understand what women face. If our attacker isn’t put down permanently, they can get up and come after us. We rarely get a second chance. It isn’t worth risking our lives to be half-way about anything like self-defense.
Not just women ... some men are not as strong and need to defend in the same way. I am sorry to all who don’t agree, but kill the bastard is my mantra if someone is committing a crime against me, my family, my friends, my business or just randomly on the street. I’m not going to take his pulse after I bash in his head to see if I should bash him/her again! What the HECK is going on here on FR!!!! Never thought I would see this kind of defense for a piece of scum like I have seen on this thread, for God’s Sake!!!!
When dealing with crazy people who are robbing or attacking you, you don’t have time to verify who their mommy is, their pet dog’s name and if they had issues with their daddy. You unfortunately are faced with someone who is threatening you and not sure about how committed they are to killing you if you present a challenge to their goals. SO... you need to TAKE THEM OUT! Sorry for the weak-kneed sisters here, but that is what you have to do. No excuses... take the idiot out...eliminate the threat. Done.
