That’s interesting about the relative being informed of the shooting. The article also states that somebody from Guerenas home ran a license plate on an unmarked police car days before the shooting.
I’m not familiar with the second image. Would you be so kind as to explain?
The last I heard, the warrant has been sealed and Sheriff Dupnick is not letting anyone see it. The spokesperson is not saying that Jose Guerena was a drug dealer. They are saying that they thought he was part of a home invasion gang that went around dressing up as police and then invading peoples homes.
I am not making this up. They are saying that the police were investigating a gang that impersonated police to invade peoples homes. Then they do a very credible impersonation of that gang, and are surprised when somebody thinks their home is being invaded by criminals.

It is mentioned in the first couple of sentences in the first link.
So, they have a relative who is in the police department? There are big penalties for running plates that are not for very specific reasons.
The odds are she called her relatives after calling 911. As to running the plate, it's possible that they saw strangers in cars lurking around and thought they might be drug dealers. My understanding of drug offenders, whether dealers or users, is trace amounts are always left behind. If there was any evidence of drugs in the house, the Pima County Sheriff's department would already have told every media outlet about it.
Post number 65 says that Guerena was being sought in connection with a home invasion crew. The irony is that he might have thought the unmarked cars lurking around were part of a home invasion crew casing the joint (i.e. his home).
Which is exactly what the want. They want people to be afraid and to "think" that they are the law. They want a nation of cowards.
Eff them! Darken my doorstep and see what happens.
It’s a terrible shame.
I hope that as the boy grows up he will understand that his father was a hero.
It’s a terrible thing for a boy to unnecessarily lose a father. Boys need good fathers to guide them to become good men.
Thanks for clearing up which agency that was really responsible. It’s often a problem with SWAT units to actually know which agency or combined agencies are supposed to be watching them. The whole time I was worried I’d catch hell for misspelling Tucson.
Sadly, Special Tactics units are being misused in many locations. Civil agencies need the ability to deal with a more lethal criminal but, must avoid becoming an occupation force for an unresponsive government
If they say anything it will be that the murder...er shooting was justified and the brave SWAR team members are heroes that deserve promotions for bravely defending the community.
It *was* a uniformed serviceman dying in an ambush.
NO cheers, unfortunately.
(*) "S.W.A.T" = "stupid wild-assed thugs"
Anytime the police "accidently" kill you, they will find drugs, guns, and knives on you. They will have put them there, but,you can believe it when they say, "Illegal guns, drugs, and knives were found on so ans so who was shot to death by police".
Another fine example of the Patriot Act...patriot..? That’s seethes w/deception.
Now we see they have kept the warrant and supporting affidavit under seal. So we now have secret Police. There is no good cause for holding back on making the documents public. If they were stupid enough to tie 4 warrants together then they have to show them all or at least redact inapplicable parts.
Amazing, I wonder if the documents will magically be improved by the time they see the light of day..kinda like Obama’s records...lawlessness begets lawlessness.
