To pass judgment on Trig when he knows nothing bout him, is despicable to the max.

God knows what is in Trig’s mind. He may stay young and not develop beyond a 8 year old, but to say that is a life not worth living, is hatred revealed. Careless of those whom he may be hurting.

Many Down's Syndrome people are 'high functioning', and can have IQ tests scores in the upper 80s-low 90s. Yes, some DS people score within the lower end of the 'normal' IQ range. Many are perfectly capable of getting an education*, holding down a job, living independently, paying their bills....Actions which elude too many people with significantly higher IQs. For Flynt to assert that Trig is "a vegetable" "unaware that he's in the world" based on his DS status shows his extreme and probably invincible ignorance.

* I remember reading (was it on FR?) an article about a young lady with DS that took classes in Spanish . She earned a B- . As the writer/professor put it, she "worked her ass off" to get that B, while more intelligent classmates didn't work as hard and so got Cs or lower. Even college level work is withing reach for many DS people, especially those who are highly motivated.
