I didn't know West wasn't running, Cain may not have held office before but he has at least done something other than community organizations so there's that and finally what's the deal with Pawlenty? I've only heard a very few things about him, but I liked the ad he started the other day.

If West isn't in it and Cain proves squishy on TARP, the I agree

Oh, he's far from the worst in the field, but he has a few weak points (conservatively speaking, that is) on policy issues and he's about as charismatic as a mayo sandwich on white bread.

He also won his governor's terms with a plurality, not a majority, both times, which doesn't bode well for electoral strength.
