I recall hearing an interview she did with a radio host in Alaska, in which she promised that if she ever did announce her candidacy for President, she would make sure that this show would be the first to know.

Does anyone else remember this?

Yes, I do believe she promised the host(s) that if she decided to run, she would announce that decision on their radio show.

And her is confirmation:

Sarah has said all along — including on the final episode of her TLC show Sarah Palin’s Alaska — that she would announce her candidacy on the radio via Bob and Mark.

The article is from Feb, and they mistakenly thought she was going to announce in April, so ignore that part.
