Anyone who had a shred of insight or honesty would concede that the GOP field is extremely weak, and that there is a clear reason for this. Namely, the GOP hasn't figured out what to do about the Tea Party wack-jobs who have infested it.

(When was the last time the GOP, as a party, actually pressed for one of their stated party-planks: less gun-control? Overturning Roe v. Wade? Responsible, controlled spending?)

I agree. In fact, I think it's truer and easier to say that the GOP is dominated by second-rate Dems who couldn't make it in their preferred ideological Party. These hacks can't get traction in their own Party, so they've come over to ours. We do ourselves no favors voting for second-string Donkeys that can "win." We still lose.

If a conservative can't win in the primary, then you're down to selecting which lib' you want to represent you in the general.
