Hawaii used whatever race the parent supplied. Senior specified “African.”

And please don’t point me to a set of national standards because Hawaii didn’t follow those. Those standards specify “white,” but the Nordyke twins’ and others’ certificates say “caucasian.” Still others list races such as “Hawaiian” and “American.”
