Prayers for the town and a call to all Christians to motivate their churches to help with the relief effort. Freepers, talk to your Deacons, Bishops, Priests and Pastors and see if there is something your Church can do for the tornado victims.

I also hope and pray that during the rebuilding, homes are constructed with solid walls (bricks, cement blocks, compressed earth blocks or ICF). At the very least, the homes are reconstructed with a safe room. Lets face it, 2x4 stick construction is not as safe as other options.

Our church is doing that already. We had a tornado in Minneapolis that has left thousands homeless, and we have a team that has been dispatched to help with getting supplies, etc. to tornado victims. They were ready to go Sunday afternoon after the storms hit to help, but the city didn’t want anyone that didn’t live in that area getting in the way of rescue and recovery efforts, which is understandable. There were already idiot looters out there, but from what my friends who live in North Minneapolis told me, they were sent packing by a group of residents that weren’t going to put-up with that nonsense in their neighborhoods. Good for them!

My parents in NW Arkansas are working with their church from 10-7 today in tornado relief for Joplin and will do the same tomorrow. They have a semi filled with supplies for the people of Joplin.

I know of many other churches involved in tornado relief. It is wonderful when the hands and feet of the Body of Christ work together and are on the move!

Praying for everyone affected by these disasters! The destruction has been horrific and devastating. :^(
