All I meant was, that on a subconscious level Barry realizes it’s all gone to hell. It wouldn’t come out as a gaffe if he were consciously in touch with how much he’s screwed up. On a sentient level he’s no doubt telling himself he’s on top of the world, and it’s only a matter of time before the old magic rekindles. Deep down, though, this date-transposition illustrates that he knows he screwed the pooch. He’s got rough, rough sledding ahead.
It’s just nice, from my perspective, to see that regardless of how many yes-people he’s got around him, on some level even Barry realizes he’s stepped in a Manhattan-sized cow paddy. That must reflect their internal polling. It reflects my impression too.
