Actually, this is the first I’ve heard of him, so I haven’t done any research yet, but I read somewhere that he supported the bailouts, Tarp and was the head of a Federal Reserve branch. Is it true and if so, how can conservative/tea party support for him be justified? Just curious.

Right after the first debate the Ron Paul wing began a series of attacks on Herman Cain about TARP and the Fed. Herman Cain is a former governor of the Kansas City Federal Reserve Branch. This immediately puts him in the EEVVVILL banker category for the Paul crowd. If you trace back all the attacks on him they come from libertarian writers who support Paul or Gary Johnson. Other than Ron Paul's "burn it to the ground" strategy I'm pretty sure every other candidate has been pretty low key about plans for the Fed. Here's a few related clips.

Herman Cain discusses Ron Paul and the Fed.

Herman Cain discusses the role of the Fed and auditing the Fed.
