my CFs goes right in the garbage

That's where the one I accidentally broke went, to their credit, I haven't had one actually die yet and I've been using them for a couple of years. I use them in some areas of my house but in others, it will always be the good old 100 watt old style. I'm well on my way to having a life time supply and like every other conservative here, I detest government telling me what kind of bulbs I must use.

OTH, I have two wall lamps in one hall way that have the same 75 watt bulbs in them since I moved in almost 20 years ago.

I have found that the ones outside (latern over my front doors etc) and the ones in my bathroom have much shorter life spans than are claimed...I suppose the dampness is getting into the electronics...

when I had my kitchen remodeled 2 years ago the electrician put in halogen flood lights, in the 7 high hats....

not only did they make my electric meter spin like a top, I had to open windows in the winter because it was too hot to stay in the kitchen....those halogens were replaced with CF Floods....
