That’s actually incorrect. When this so-called rapture was prophesied Peter was still alive and Christ had given a prophesy of how he was to die.
Its easy NOW to say there is nothing left that could interfere with this ‘rapture’ but, when the verses used to defend this view were written there were several things that needed to come to pass.
In layman’s terms the rapture was NOT imminent at the time it was prophesied (again using the timeline when the verses were penned). This evidence refutes the claims that the rapture can happen at anytime. Therefore we must look for the signs and you will find many such in the Olivet Discourse and in various other passages.
