I recall reading on an Israeli news website that Israel was expecting some sort of apology or retraction from the White House on Obummer’s statement yesterday.
I haven’t heard the sound bytes from the meeting, but I think I know the answer to my question...

obama was staring daggers at Netanyahu the entire time. His body language seemed to suggest seething anger mixed with wanting to end the meeting asap.
I think before the Kenyan’s election Brezhinski came out of his well deserved obscurity to say that the US should invade and occupy Israel to make sure the Palestinians got a fair deal. I took it as a feeler put out by either the Bush administration or by the Democrats preparing for a Democrat administration. I think it was much more than a personal harumph from the Carterian abomination. I think the Kenyan really would like to “solve” the Mideast situation once and for all and means to do it. The only way that can be done is to eliminate Israel. That is surely congruent with this president’s worldview and consistent with his Cairo speech and his Moslem sympathies.
If Israel goes back to the pre 1967 borders it will be be a short precursor to the end of Israel as a state. Those Israelis that do not emigrate will be killed in a US sponsored conflagration. The very act of pulling back will trigger the fall because the Israeli citizenry will move to get out.
