Harold Camping Prepares for Judgement Day, May 21, 2011
CNN ^ | May 17, 2011 | Jay Kernis

Answering questions: Harold Camping, President of Family Stations, Inc.

You have determined May 21, 2011 is Judgment Day. What do you predict will happen?

It might be just one great earthquake, then as it gets to be May 21 in any other country—there will be a great earthquake there.

So earthquakes could occur around the world for 24 hours? By the end of 24 hours the whole world will be destroyed.

Why is God causing this to happen?

The purpose of the earthquake is three-fold: it will be enormously destructive as God is destroying the earth. Secondly, the people who died as true believers will come out of their tombs with their glorified spiritual bodies and will be caught up to be with Christ.

All of the remains of unbelievers-carcasses—the bones will be thrown out of the grave and be like dung or manure—because they will be shamed in the eyes of God as a final of consequence of God's wrath.

God created mankind in his image and likeness to serve him, to obey him. But when mankind rebelled against God, they came unto what is openly demanded by the laws of God, which is death.

How do you suggest people prepare for Judgment Day?

The way people of Nineveh prepared when Jonah came there. Jonah said in 40 days God will destroy you. They did three things: One they sat in sack cloth and ashes—they humbled themselves before God. Secondly, they pleaded with God, they begged him that this might not happen. Thirdly, they recognized they were wicked and turned from their sins–they realized God’s wrath was on them because of their sins.

You have no doubt that all of this will happen?

We know absolutely, without any shadow of a doubt, that May 21 will be the day!

There is a delicious serving of crow being prepared in Hades for the evening of the 21st to serve all those who doubt Dr Camping's prophesy.

It exposes what theologians have rightly called the great antithesis.

My scientist uncle at Harvard studied Camping’s calculation using a supercomputer there, and tells me that the man could very well be correct.

Wanna bet on it? My slacker sister in law studied at community college and thinks Camping is an idiot and the rapture will not come on May 21. I think I'll trust her expert analysis over your scientist uncle.

It is disgusting how many people have been led astray by this blasphemer. Even sadder how so many people listen without even consulting what the Word actually says on this subject.

so "if" judgement day does not come to pass on May 21, do you think he will claim that God spared us like He did Nineveh? will Camping be mad like Jonah was? i wonder what he's going to say... i know he's made a false prediction before... but this one seems more far spread...

“If you believe in Christ, then you should not be dabbling in the blasphemous rants of someone who clearly is not basing their teachings upon Scripture. “

Is belief in scripture a requirement for belief in “Christ”?

Camping is a fool and a coward regardless of the godless. And the separation has been going on since the 1st century. I’ve always wondred why anyone who claims to be a child of God wants to be “raptured” anyway.

“All of the remains of unbelievers-carcasses—the bones will be thrown out of the grave and be like dung or manure—because they will be shamed in the eyes of God as a final of consequence of God’s wrath. “

That sure makes God sound narcissistic and vindictive.

I didn’t think about those who might really be worried about this, especially any children. I love the humor here at Free Republic, but this would be a good time to pray that God uses this time to glorify Himself in the eyes of those who are worried, not that they scoff at someone who actually speaks the truth the next day.

It would be a good time to tell the truth on any liberal news sites, too.

This whole theater production does only one thing: brings Bible prophesy into the forum to be lambasted by the Left

Exactly. The left is loving this, as it furthers their campaign to marginalize all Christians.

“especially any children”

I recall many times as a kid hearing these predictions. I don’t recall being worried about the end of the world. I DO remember being mad at my mom for still making me do my homework!

I understand. Perhaps you have an ill opinion of Bible prophesy yourself. Many FReepers do.

Don't get stuck on the convenient, overused term "rapture," only understand the scripturally revealed concept. I admit that evangelicals have a knack for overusing convenient terms until they lose all meaning, but you shouldn't discard the baby with the bathwater.

There is some group proclaiming themselves to be atheists and offering to take people’s pets and care for them.
I understand they are raking it in.
