We can call it whatever we want. I’m sure the Administration and the Pentagon will come up with some nice euphemism like “non-kinetic strategic de-advancement”.
Either way, it’s a fools errand. Pakistan built the Taliban, and rebuilds them whenever they get too battered. We pump billions into Pakistan, who double deals us 24/7/365. American taxpayer money, which we borrow from the Chinese or our grandchildren, is funding both sides of the fight.
As for our side, we’re fighting with both arms tied behind our back and our feet tied at the ankles. Every now and then we get an arm loose to pat ourselves on the back for being so smugly civilized.
Anyway, we chose this path ten years ago. If its more of this, or nothing, then nothing is looking pretty good.
The Russians couldn’t win.
I hate that our troops are there. It reminds me too much of Viet Nam.
At least the troops who survive aren’t being spat upon.
This is a hard thing for me to say but, I’m with you...I’ll take “nothing”.
