If you think that makes him less of a conservative, then we don’t stand a snow-ball’s chance in Hell in 12!
As for the 20 years and “term limits.” Coburn hasn’t reneged once on his term limit promises.
He’s in DC because we voted overwhelmingly to send him there, both, as congressman and senator.
If you know of someone more conservative... post the name.
While you’re at it name your senators, I’m curious.
Coburn was in the House from 1994-2000. He left as he honored his term limit pledge. He's in his second and last term as Senator (2004-2016), because he term limited himself, again.
He's one of the few who has honored his pledge.
He said he would limit himself to three terms in the House. He did.
And he has said he would limit himself to two Senate terms. He's on his second.
I think he sees the scope of the problems in this country and somewhat naively thinks he can find Democrats serious about working on them as well. To his credit, he now seems to realize that isn't the case.
But I'll take a man like Coburn any day of the week over uniformed blowhards any day of the week.
