I’m not sure I see your point.

We inspect people at border crossings (in theory at least) to determine if they, or any of their possessions pose a potential threat to the United States. That seems like a pretty good idea to me.

When something is found during that inspection, in this case swine that’s potentially disease carrying, should we turn a blind eye? To make some sort of point? I don’t think reintroducing Classical Swine Fever (or worse, Foot and mouth disease or Swine vesicular disease) to damage our multi-billion dollar a year swine industry?
