The White House released financial disclosure forms on Monday for President Obama and Vice President Biden, showing nothing in the way of conflicts of interest, which the documents are mostly intended to illuminate.
But the forms do highlight the very different financial circumstances between Obama and his No. 2.
It’s not surprising that Obama’s documents show that his sources of income are largely the revenue from his books “Dreams of My Father,” “The Audacity of Hope” and a recently published children’s book, “Of Thee I Sing.” The first family has a sizable amount in savings, investments and pension funds. The Obamas hold between $1 million and $5 million in treasury notes and bills, and tens of thousands of dollars in other accounts. Sasha and Malia have between $100,000 and $250,000 stashed away in college savings accounts.

Well the document I’ll be curious to see is the Nomination Certification signed by Nancy Pelosi. I’m anxious to see if she will be willing to perjure herself again this year.
The most amazing thing is how little Biden has accumulated after forty years in six figure service to the state of Delaware. How possibly could this imbaacile not have a significantly large amount of money saved. How many people make a slary of $125-$175 k for forty years and have no money?

Ordinarily, I would agree with you. But in Biden's case, why should he bother to save for the future? Based on 39 years (and counting) at the Senate trough, Biden is guaranteed a federal pension of well over $150,000 per year for life -- adjusted each year for inflation. How much capital would one have to accumulate to guarantee such security?
It thus appears that Joe Biden is not the spendthrift fool -- we are the spendthrift fools for hiring and paying him so much!
