It's not, in that it would be a real 21st century war against an 180 million strong nation with a real military, nuclear weapons, and a radicalized Islamist population.
We'd have to fight to keep hundreds of miles of supply lines open to Afghanistan at the same time, as well as keep Afghanistan suppressed.
Also, the interests of China and India would pull them into the equation, one way or another.
On top of all of that, the American people are war-weary, and running out of money.
It's literally a nightmare scenario for the U.S.
Pakistan's government is one of the few around the globe that has conducted major terrorist operations against a foreign adversary. It wouldn't surprise me to hear that they were in the process of planting nukes stateside. Most Muslim countries have large contingents of people with murderous attitudes against the infidel. The difference between Pakistan and most Muslim countries is that Pakistan's leadership not only feels the same way as its murderous populace, but acts on those impulses.
