In her spare time, Hillary dreams of ovens.

What makes people in Hollywood think that they know the answer to everything when they cannot think without being handed a script?

It’s been tried.
I have been through this in great detail at College.
Every so often, some bleeding heart whizkid comes up with a new efficient oven for 3rd world people, and sets off on an adventure to get them to use it.
What he or she finds EVERY TIME is that those people don’t WANT his contraption, because the traditional ways aren’t just for cooking food - they also provide warmth, and a central family point around which to gather.
Every major College must know about this stuff. Been tried, fails EVERY time.

I don’t need no stinking advice from the rat and the hag.

I’m so glad to find out that after all these years, Julia and Hillary FINALLY buried the hatchet and got together on something! Of course, Mooshelle took the really great, undiscovered theme of obesity, so all that was left really, was ovens.

“And cutting down trees for fuel causes natural habitats to dry up, forests to disappear and soil to erode.
.
And what about the cutting down of trees to make bio-diesel?

The
Rocket Stove deals with the problem by using a more efficient design to use the most widely available, local fuel in a simple stove made from local materials.

Well, it seems to have worked pretty well since the beginning of human history.

It’s another giveaway program, with results being no greater than a flyspeck in the ocean.
Julia Roberts, the Hindu convert, telling the rest of us how to live . . . sheesh
To: Libloather
"Those numbers are tilted steeply toward women and children in developing nations, who inhale the dangerously high concentration of chemicals and can develop diseases including lung cancer and cataracts."
LOL! My experience in Third World countries tells me they should be so lucky. Endemic diseases, internecine warfare, snake bite, and murderously abusive spouses take them long before a "dirty" stove ever will.

First we were not allowed to eat meat.
Then we were informed that plants have rights too.
Now we are not allowed to cook what we aren’t allowed to eat.
Then they wonder why no one takes them seriously.
What a bunch of ..... (You know where I’m headed.)

Give us a break. Like Libloather said, people in 3rd world have a lot more serious problems than the cook-stoves they’re using.
By the way, a lot of those “3rd-worlders” end up in good ol’ USA and (especially lately with housing market collapse) seem to find their way to OUR neighborhood, where they invariably end up BURNING THEIR STINKING TRASH IN THEIR BACK YARDS, and it all seems to waft over to our garden, making it impossible to breathe or enjoy a few moments outside among the roses.
Dunces are everywhere; and as my daddy used to say: “Poor people have poor ways.”
