Turkey's expanded road map for a cease-fire and transition in Libya was rejected by a Libyan opposition spokesperson following a meeting Thursday of the Libya Contact Group in Rome.

Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said after the meeting, however, that there was a "certain agreement" on the road map, and that a plan announced at the talks by Libya's Transitional National Council was very similar to the one proposed by Turkey...

The Libyan opposition rebuffed Turkey's road map in the wake of the Rome meeting, calling it unrealistic...

Mechanisms to achieve a cease-fire in Libya, or some other way to sustain a truce, should be established by the United Nations within one week's time, or at most 10 days, Davutoglu told reporters Friday...

At the international meeting Thursday in Rome, Davutoglu detailed Turkey's road map, which includes an immediate cease-fire and establishing necessary mechanisms for transition in one week. If Russia attacked Turkey from the rear, do you think Greece would help?

My wild guess is, Turkey’s offer included sanctuary in Turkey for Gaddafy and his family and entourage, where he (and they) could live out their lives in relative comfort and safety.
