Many people including Rush has said that any candidate on the sidelines at this point with the nation in the shape it's in either do not realize how badly things are looking for the USA or they do know how badly things are.

I would tell any candidate who wants to win to forget the old style political calculus and maneuvering. If you lead people will notice and we need leadership now. Even if things turn up or down from here, people will remember when you stood up.
Are they waiting for it to get worse? To see if a recovery finally takes hold? Is it because they're all so wildly wealthy, insulated from "little things" like inflation, unemployment and gas prices, and disconnected from the fear, anger and uncertainty in the rest of us?
The GOP is looking for excuses to raise the debt ceiling for as little political backlash or policy gain as possible. It's mind-numbing.
